Kingsbury Club in Medfield, Massachusetts is a strong example of how commercial rooftop solar and battery storage can work together to turn underutilized roof space into a long-term energy asset.
NRGTree completed the rooftop solar project in 2021, delivering a 1,012 kW DC solar system paired with an AC-coupled energy storage system rated at 1,326 kW AC.
For a large commercial facility with significant electric demand, the strategy was not just about installing panels. It was about structuring the project around the full energy opportunity: rooftop solar production, battery storage, avoided electric costs, available incentive programs, and long-term asset performance.
At the time of development, the project benefited from the Massachusetts SMART program, federal tax incentives, and the ability to reduce exposure to rising utility costs. Combined with battery storage, the system was designed to support a stronger and more resilient energy strategy for the property.
Projects like Kingsbury Club Medfield show what is possible when commercial property owners look at their roof as more than a building component. With the right underwriting, incentive strategy, and execution plan, rooftop solar can become a meaningful financial asset.
NRGTree was proud to help bring this project from development through completion.
