FAQ

  • Bidding / Can I set a minimum pricer per kWh and let the system bid for me?

Bidding is static. Whatever price per kWh you enter is the price that your company will enter the auction. You can lower the price at any point until the auction is over.

  • Bidding / How many installers are shown to the user at the end of an auction?

The top three installers are shown to a user at the end of the auction. If you are in the top three, the user will see your information and have the opportunity to contact you. However they are not obligated to reach out to you.

  • Bidding / How long are auctions?

Auctions run for one business day. If a user requests bids in non-business hours (5:00 PM - 8:59 AM), it will run until 5 PM of the next business day. If a user requests bids during business hours (9:00 AM - 4:59 PM), the auction will extend until 5:00 PM of the next business day.

  • Bidding / How will I know if I get outbid?

If your bid falls outside of the top 3 you will receive an email notification so that you can rebid if desired.

  • Bidding / If we decide to go with different materials, leading to a higher price, how will we communicate that with the user?

Your bid should be based on approved Tier 1 equipment and you are obligated to commit to the price you provide in the auction. Discussion of the actual equipment will only occur after the user has requested a site visit.

  • Bidding / Are we allowed to have multiple users on one installer account?

Yes - You can add as many users as you'd like. Each user has access to the marketplace and can bid for your company.

  • User Interaction /I won an auction a while ago but the user hasn't reached out, what should I do?

Part of the NRGTree platform is giving users the opportunity to get quotes from installers without sharing their information or having any obligation to move forward. If a user hasn't reached out to you, unfortunately there isn't much you can do. On our end we will reach out to see if they are interested in moving forward, and if you have any questions about a particular user feel free to reach out to NRGTree.

  • User Interaction / How do users schedule a visit with us? What if we can't make that time?

Users request site visits through their account. When a user requests a site visit you will receive an email notification with the date and time, which can also be seen in your installer account under the "Winning Bids" tab. Additionally, their contact information will be shared with you, and we ask that you reach out to either confirm the time or reschedule.

  • User Interaction / Can the users only schedule with one installer?

No - Users can schedule visits with any or none of the top three installers from their auction. The 1st place installer gets invited much more often, but some users will even invite all three winning installers.

  • Designs / Do we have to use the designs and specifications that NRGTree creates?

Not exactly - At NRGTree we do our best to make accurate designs to fit the user's electrical needs. However, site visits can reveal details (e.g. obstacles, spacing) that we may have missed during our remote analysis, leading to minor changes. Additionally, we realize you may not carry the same equipment (i.e. brand or panel wattage) as the original design, so using any of our Tier 1 approved panels and inverters is acceptable.

  • Quotes / How do I fill out a quote?

We strive to make the process as easily as possible and greatly appreciate feedback. Currently there are three steps. First, fill in system details including price, equipment information, and electrical production. Second, upload your contract through Docusign so that the user can easily sign online. Third, write a brief message to your customer and submit.
