To lock in the 40% Federal Investment Tax Credit for your commercial solar rooftop projects for projects ≤ 1.5 MW AC you must have the system in Service by 2027 or you can Safe Harbor the Tax Credits until 2030 by following these steps:
Incur costs
Pay for at least 5% by July 4, 2026 of the total project cost, which typically includes purchasing modules, racking, and inverters. This payment will be refundable if for some reason we do not install the system.
Document everything
NRGTree will maintain detailed records of all payments and the binding contracts associated with them.
Project completion
The project must be placed in service by December 31, 2030, to receive the credit.
FEOC Rules
NRGTree will abide by the new Foreign Entity of Concern (FEOC) rules that will affect solar projects starting January 1, 2026. We will ensure your components are not from a prohibited entity to qualify for incentives.
